The roots of America's love affair with Jeep can be traced to World War II, as the one-of-a-kind vehicle dutifully served the U.S. military with its durability and ruggedness. With the new Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition, customers can connect with the original Jeep vehicle's rugged and purely functional capability.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X is new for 2014 and brings added off-road capability above the already legendary Rubicon model with a winch-capable bumper, wider rock rails and higher level of standard content.
The Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition has been named and re-introduced for the 2014 model year due to popular demand. Based on the Sport S model, the Wrangler Freedom Esition offers great value with unique exterior and interior appointments.
Other new features for the 2014 Jeep Wrangler include a Trail Kit featuring two D-rings, a tow strap, gloves and a bag to store the items. Clear park lamps and turn signal indicators replace the amber units.
Wrangler continues to offer a body-on-frame design, front and rear five-link suspension system, live axles, electronic lockers, and is one of the few mid-size SUVs that offers a six-speed manual transmission -- in addition to its five-speed automatic transmission.
The 2014 Jeep is powered by the 2.0-liter I-4 World Gas Engine (producing 158 horsepower and 141 lb.-ft. of torque). Also offered is a 2.4-liter I-4 producing 172 horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque mated to the new 6F24 six-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
